Should I Be Concerned About Abnormal EKGs With Panic Attacks?

I have been diagnosed with anxiety/ panic disorder. what concerns me most is that I have been having abnormal EKG s for over 5 years now, had a cardiac cath they showed some small areas of blockage and I am now on cholesterol low dose medications. What concerns me most is that during the onset of an anxiety/ panic attack it feels as though I am having a heart attack. Should I be concerned with this from my past abnormal EKG s......

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Golden test for coronary artery disease is coronary angiography ,which you have already undergone and showed minor blockade. You are on cholesterol lowering agents as secondary prevention.You need not be concerned with your abnormal EKG as the diagnosis of heart condition giving rise to EKG abnormality has already been settled. Only thing you have to do is annual EKG, to see if there is any fresh change.
