Should I Be Concerned About Fast Breathing And Chills After Heavy Drinking?
my friend has been drinking heavily tonight. he's thrown up, drank water and has now fallen asleep. he's still breathing around 18-19 times per minute and has been doing so in his sleep for about 2 hours. now he has the chills. is this an area of concern?
Heavy drinking increases chances of aspiration of abdominal contents into respiratory tract, which causes respiratory distress and infection. Any such infection can lead to chills in body.
Try to wake up your friend and ask him about breathing or respiratory problem. If yes or if do not wake up get him admitted in medical facility without delay.
