Hello.. You mentioned your disease IBS. But sorry to say, in medical field IBS stand for two disease Inflammatory bowel disease and Irritable bowel disease. And the main difference in both is bleeding per rectum. So it is very unclear that which disease you are suffering because the treatment for both disease are different. If you are suffering from Inflammatory bowel disease then bleeding mucus is common symptom. Mainly occurs in Ulcerative colitis. In this case kindly take Tab Meselamine and a short course of Prednisolone to stop bleeding. But if you are suffering from Irritable bowel syndrome, then bleeding mucus is uncommon symptom. In this case if this occur once then better to avoid but if bleeding mucus occurring frequently then rediagnose your disease and treat according to Inflammatory bowel disease. Thank You
