Should I Be Concerned About The Purple Bruise Which Hurts That Occurred After Checking My Cholesterol?

Hey, I had my cholesterol checked on Friday morning. I was surprised, I didn't even feel a pinch. Right after I left my vein was bulging. I called back and that said just put pressure on it. Since then I have a purple bruise which keeps spreading and it hurts. Should I be concerned?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern to HCM

You need not worry. The bruise is due to leaked blood into surrounding tissue from the puncture in vein. It will resolve within 7-10 days.

You can take a Vit C supplement to hasten resolution

take care
