Should I Be Concerned About The Swollen Injection Site?
My daughter got her 1 yr vaccines yesterday which were Hep A, PCV13, MMR, Chicken Pox. Earlier today I noticed the injection site was a little swollen its a few hours later now and it has gotten worse about an inch and a half around and bright red. should I take her to the ER or wait until morning and take her to her pediatrician?
Hi...by what you quote I feel that this is a normal injection site reaction.
For pain - Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose (maximum ceiling dose of 500mg) every 4-6th hourly that too only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
