Should I Be Concerned About White Spot On My Tongue?
I went to the dentist this week and he was looking at my tongue - there was a white spot, I never noticed or felt, and he took his tool and lifted it up to show me. It looks like a small stick or tag?? I still couldn't feel it but I could see it. I have to see an oral surgen next week. What do you think this is? Should I be alarmed?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have white spot on my tongue which could be due to apthous ulcers or canker sores which can be due to number of reasons like Nutritional Deficiencies (iron, Vitamin B12 and folic acid), stress, acid reflux, allergic reaction to certain medications, taking excess of sour foods. I would suggest you to take Prednisone 10 mg twice daily for 5 days. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Avoid hot, sharp substances. Take a multivitamin daily for 15 days. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Apply numbing gels on spot if it is painful.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
