Should I Be Concerned As I Am Getting Blisters Where The Stitch Has Been Placed?

My boyfriend cut his hand last down through thr muscle & got three inside stiched & 6 on the top. This past Saturday bottom stitch came out while sleeping & a blister has appeared where stich was on each side. Today whilr at work, same thing happened. Its the palm of his hand under thumb. He is taking his antibiotics but we are worried as to why the blisters are appearing. Parts of the cut aren't healed together either.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Firstly it is advisable that you get the area re stitched where the sutures came out to prevent gaping wound. This would ensure complete healing of lesion.
Development of blisters could be due to contact irritant dermatitis. This occurs due to irritation with dettol/ savlon/ betadine/ antibiotic cream like gentamicin or neosporin/ adhesive from surgical tape.Avoiding the irritant and application of steroid antibiotic like fluticasone mupirocin cream should help.
Hope this answered your query.
Take care
