Should I Be Worried About A Bump On The Shin Caused Due To Injury And Is There Any Chance Of Bone Being Chipped?
I was hit with a hockey puck on the top part of my shin a week ago. There is a large bump and a good amount of yellowing in the surrounding area which I think is like a black and blue mark, except it is yellow. I can walk on it ok but sometimes there is a stinging pain in that general location. when I bend my knee, putting my foot almost all of the way towards my back, it stretches the skin and hurts at that bump. I assume this is due to the swelling. Is there something I should do? Is there any chance that the bone is chipped and is causing the pain?
I do not think that it is a chip fracture, it can be a soft tissue injury. I want to suggest you that you should take pain killer like Brufen daily. Also you should take hot water fomentation and compression bandage. Avoid too much walking or prolong standing.
