Should I Be Worried About Swelling And Flashes Of Light In Front Of Eye After Head Impact?
The day before yesterday when skiing I had a collision with another skier. We just happened to collide at a point I thought I was avoiding him and he must have continued across the the slope and came in on myside. Anyway I had a yard sale with skies and poles going everywhere and I let myself fall as easily as I could. My helmet kept me from having a bad head impact but It did feel like impact. That night I had a slight head ache and it became worse the next morning but I attributed it to dehydration and some alcohol effect due to having had a martinini and wine at dinner. Yesturday I seemed to be ok but when going to bed last night I saw flashes or brief circles of bright light to the right of my right eye. this disappeared when I closed my eyes and I did sleep well. this morning the flashes continued but not as great as last night and I do have swelling above and below the right eye and a small amount above the left. Maybe a slight feeling of pressure behind. Not sure. So what do I have to worry about?
Dear sir, madam, the flashes of light is due to edemas, swelling and detachment of retinal layers so please consult vitro retinal surgeon to evaluate funduscopy thoroughly
