Should I Be Worried About The Bump Formed By Falling Down?
I am a 45 year old female and just fell on the front porch. My forehead hit the front door. I have a bump in the middle of my forehead and no symptoms. No loss of consciousness or anything. After I fell I applied an ice pack. There are no lacerations either just a bump. It s been almost an hour and still no symptoms. The bump has gone down with the application of an ice pack.
Hi there, After going through your question, I am of the opinion that: 1) Falling down and injuring the head can be worrisome, however, as long as there was no vomiting, black-out or loss of consciousness, chances of internal injury are very less. 2) The bump could be a small haematoma, which has subsided with ice pack so do not worry about it. 3) In case you feel that you are having watery discharge from nose, vomiting, loss of balance or consciousness, you must visit the emergency room immediately. 4) For now, I suggest that you just relax and do not worry.
I hope this was helpful. Regards, Dr. Shikha Shah
