Should I Be Worried About The Heavy Bleeding And Stomach Ache?

Hi, I am 23 years old. About 5ft 2 and weigh about 9 1/2 stone. I have had the implant in now for a year and never had a period but this morning I have woken up to find very heavy bleading and a very sore stomach. Is this normal?? Do I need to worry??

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Implants are very effective contraception method, it is unlikely to be pregnant related bleeding. However, I would suggest you to get examined by a gynecologist to see if everything is okay with your cervix, there could be a cervical polyp or inflammation of cervix. Rarely it could be pregnancy as well, so you need a complete emulation to be on safe side.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Arif N. Khan, OBGYN
