Should I Be Worried About The Pain In Throat After Quitting Smoking?

hi..doctor. i am from India, Calcutta is where i live..I am 23 year old..had been smoking two cigarettes a day since 3 years..but now 2 weeks ago i decided to quit it forever..but now suddenly i feel pain inside my throat ...the pain appeared last thursday and still now it resides..is this normal?

Thanks for your query.
Read and understood that you have pain in throat that started after quitting smoking. Just smoking 2 cigarettes a day and later quitting should not really cause a problem and that too like pain in the throat.

I would advise you the following in such a situation:
First of all, get an opinion of an ENT Surgeon to see the problem in the throat- whether this is granular pharyngitis or something else.
You are too young, say just 23 years to have any serious problem like cancer, hence stop worrying.
A proper treatment with an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines can help you out well.
Take care and do not smoke again.
