Should I Be Worried As My Son Fell And Had An Instant Goose Egg And Started To Stutter That Continues Even Today?

My son was running down the hallway, fell and hit the left side of his forehead on the corner of the wall. Had an instant goose egg. Neuro vitals were fine all night long (I'm a nurse) did not lose consciousness and I applied ice off and on through night. The next day he started to stutter and its continued today. Should I be worried?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

instant development of swelling can be a reactionary event and is not of much concern if it does not cause any neurological symptoms.

But since your son is developing stuttering , I would advise you to take him to a neurologist immediately and get a CT scan done to rule out any brain injury. One can never be too careful.

Keep applying ice to the swollen area along with some anti inflammatory like Etoricoxib till then.

I hope my advice has helped.
Good luck
