Hi,

In unmarried, 18 years old girl it is common to have some amount pain before the periods. But as:
- Your pain started before menstrual period and persisting after that also
- Your period was normal
- You noticed little swelling in pelvic area,
Rare causes like ovarian cysts, pelvic masses, appendicular pathology etc has to be ruled out.

According to these factors better to consult your Gynecologist once, get examined and go for ultrasound. This will help in finding out the possible cause of the problem and treatment can be taken accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
