Should I Be Worried Of Having A Pimple Deep Under My Skin In Groin Area?
Good evening .I am writing to you from Lithuania so I apologise for my bad English. I have noticed a pimple deep under my skin under in the groin area. The pimple was not painful. When I pressed it, blood came out. After while I noticed that there again is like a blood collection. If I press again, blood comes out again. What can it be there ? Can it be because of shaving? Or should I worry of something else ? Thank you in advance for your answer. I am a woman, 42 years old.
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. From the description provided, seems you could be having folliculitis. Folliculitis is common in areas like groins and axilla due to dense hair growth. Also the bacteria or fungus thrives well in warm moist areas of body where sweat is trapped. Shaving too can cause folliculitis. Now to treat the same Just do warm water compresses over the area twice in a day as it helps in maturation drainage and resolution of lesion. Apply topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin twice in a day. Avoid squeezing the lesion. If the lesion does not heal in five to six days, take a course of oral antibiotic like amoxyclav. In adults, it's usually given as 625 mg three times in a day. Hope this answered your query. Take care
