Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. First you have to rule out dangerous signs of head injury
: vomiting
: bleed through nose/ear/throat
:
loss of consciousness or decreasing consciousness
: fits
: onset of new focal deficit
: persistent dizziness/vertigo
: headache is increasing severity/not relieving with pain killers
If any of above sign is present, you must consult ER. The doctor might your neurological system and advise
CT scan of head. CT head is done to detect
fracture or intracranial bleed. Further management will be decided after scan report.
If no above signs, your injury seems to be mild head injury. For pain and swelling (if any) relief
: you should apply cold compresses
: you should take pain killer like
Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
: avoid pressure at injury site
: keep your head at higher level than chest to relieve swelling
: in case of vomiting, you should turn head to side
: avoid painkiller which cause sedation
If still no relief, you should
consult doctor.
Thanks. Hope it will help you. Take care.
