MYMOM AGED 82 YEARS, A DIABETIC HYPETENSION PATIENT HAD DIAAREA SINCE 3 DAYS WITH 15 TIMES SEMISOLID MOTION ON THE FIRST DAY CONTINUED BY WATERY MOTION WITH BAD SMELL YELLOWISH IN COLOUR IN THE NEXT TWO DAYS. DOCTOR PRESCRIBED OFFILOX OZ 1BD/DOXY 1BD/COPDIENESULPHATE 3 TIMES/ AND REDOTIL 1 BD.. NOW MOTION STOPPED ON THE 4TH DAY NIGHT. SHOULD I CONTINUE THE MEDICINES AND IF SO FOR HOW MANY DAYS/
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the protozoa infection then the medicine has to be taken for five days but it is all depends upon the clinical condition of patient ideally it has to be given from three to five days, I would suggest to discuss this with the doctor, if the diarrhea is stopped so it is not the indication of eradication of infection hope this information helps.
