Should I Continue Taking Glucophage For Blood Sugar?
Hello doctor... I was on Glucophage 850mg twice a day and my sugar has always been at the reading of above 12. now I hav echnaged to Glavusmet 50/1000 as my husband too is a diabetic and his doctor prescribed it to him and I too took it and that seem to be working for me... now its at 5.7 before breakfast and about 8 after food. is it ok to continue without seeing a doctor on this?
Hello dear user! I have gone through your query and understood your concerns! Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic.Galvusmet is a combination of two antidiabetic drugs Metformine and Vidagliptine. It seems to be effective in you but in my opinion every patient who is diabetic should see regularly the doctor, and especially in therapy changes. Metformin is a secure drug in genereal, but vidagliptine may cause hypoglicemia (low sugar levels in blood) as a side effect of it. So be carefull, while using this drug. Have an appointment with your endocrinologist. I hope this answer was helpful to you! Please kindly rate it and write a short review about your experience with me! Thank you and best regards! DR ERIOL.
