Should I Continue Taking Alprim If Symptoms Are Still There?
Hi I am currently taking Alprim for a UTI. My doctor advised to discontinue after four days and although my symptoms have improved they have not resolved completely. I am still experiencing pressure during and increased frequency of urination. Should I continue the seven day course? Also is it common to notice an increase in symptoms late afternoon? (I am taking my dose in the am) Thanks
Hi,welcome to healthcare magic forum. If your symptoms have not resolved completely, you can continue the medicine for up to 7-10 days(I guess you do not have other medical illnesses like kidney/liver disease, and not taking any other drugs). If symptoms persists even after 7 days,it is better to do a urine culture and sensitivity test, rather than continuing the same drug.Meanwhile, take adequate oral fluids. I hope you will find this information useful.Thank you.
