Should I Give Prednisolone To My Child For Cough And Wheezing?

Hello doctor, my son is 3 years old and got a very bad cough and wheezing. it got bad in a day. yday he was fine. we went to a doctor and he prescribed Prednisolone(1 tab each for 3 days). my son is on Dipakene for the last two months. is this medicine safe, i dont feel comfortable with this prescription .. please help

Hi, yes you can prednisolone to a child if wheezing is more and not responding to beta blocker drugs. Prednisolone should be given for a short period of 3 to 4 days and then stopped.
