Should I Go Back To The Doctor For A Swollen And Painful Shin After Injury?
I was working in the yard and hit my shin. It hurt at the time, but didn t hurt any more really than stubbing your toe badly. I looked down about 30 minutes later, and it looked like I had another kneecap on the side of my shin. Went to Patient First and the doctor said that blood had pooled in between the bone and the layer of tissue that covers the bone. They did an xray and my leg was fine. The doc said it probably wouldn t hurt unless I touched it and the swelling should be gone in about a week. That happened about a week ago. The swelling has mostly gone down, but there s still a good sized bubble of doom. It s now a large bruise from 4 inches below my knee to my ankle, and is painful pretty much any time I am standing. Should I go back to the doctor?

Should I Go Back To The Doctor For A Swollen And Painful Shin After Injury?
Hello, It could be a contusion or hematoma. As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief. You can apply icepacks for faster recovery. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
