Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should I Go To ER As I Fell Down From Stairs And Have Soreness On Neck?
I just fell down some stairs and hit my head in the back and did something to my back. It hurts really bad about mid back on my right side. It also is sore on the back of my neck and down my spine. Should I go to the emergency room or just wait and see if it gets better?
Usually, post fall it is advised to take an x-ray to checkout for any hairline fracture. If no feature than there it's a good sign as it will be only a muscle injury. But an x-ray is advised for safety purpose.
As there is pain after the fall I will advice to take an x-ray, do hot water fermentation and provide rest to the muscles to heal. Once pain levels come down do simple exercises and breathing exercises to regain the muscle strength and improve the muscle property.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
