Should I Meet Doctor For A 3 Year Old Having Mucous In Stool?

My 3.5 y/o has suddenly started having mucous in his stool. He'll have it for a day, then a semi-mushy bowel movement the next day, then mucous again the day after. He had a cold 3-4 weeks ago but other than that is perfectly healthy. How long do I watch it before taking him to the dr? Thank you

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM .
You history suggests that your son is suffering from infective diarrhea .
Give sporolac one sachet daily.
Give curd rice or rice with buttermilk .
Give antibiotic like OZ in consultation with your doctor.
Usually it subsides within 72-96 hours.
Hope this reply is OK for you.
I shall be happy to answer any further queries.
