Should I Meet Doctor For Fever And Cough Of 3 Year Old?

my daughter is 3 she has had a mild fever all day ranging from 98.0 -100.0 at night her temp has gone as high as 104.2 with tyenol. she has had a minor cough for a few days and has worsened with the fever. she has not had vacanations. she also came into contact with someone who had croup. what do i do? she has never been so sick. do i take her in
to the hospital?

Hello. thank you for your question. These are very common pediatric symptoms. Though the most common diagnosis is a harmless viral illness, the duration of her symptoms and the height of her fever indicate that this could be a bacterial infection, possibly requiring antibiotics. This is not an emergency. However, I do recommend that you consult with your doctor so the correct diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment plan implemented.
