Should I Start Taking Thyroid Medicine For Back Pain?

Hello, I used to have Graves and did Radioactive Iodine treatment ( which afterwords while waiting for medication for a month, I began to have severe muscle aches and pains). Now 6 years later, my dose of Levothyroxine was too high and my TSH levels too high so my Endocrinologist took me off my medication. But now I have SEVERE lower back pain for 4 days now. Should I start taking my pill again. ( further info- I dont really exercise, Im not over weight, im on Birth Control, Im 24 years old) Thank you !

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
Good day.
I am wondering why your endocrinologist stopped levothyroxine on seeing a high TSH? High TSH means that your levothyroxine dose was not enough. ( are you confusing levothyroxine with Methimazole which is a drug used in Grave's). Please don't do ant self treatment for back pain. If it is severe, that need to be evaluate by a doctor. Besides, we need to get to the top of your thyroid issue. I strongly suggest you to do a Thyroid function tests and consult an endocrinologist soon.
Regards
Binu
