Should I Take Amoxycillin And Pot. Clavulanate For Tonsillitis?

My doctor diagnosed me with acute follicular tonsillitis a year back and suggested me amoxycillin and pot. clavulanate tablets (warclav 625). I got OK that time. But from few days i am having extreme pain in my throat again. and i thing its tonsillitis again. should i take the same medicine or consult with the doctor again. and please suggest me the dosage. i have forgotten the dosage actually. please help !!! DOCTOR!!!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate is a broad spectrum antibiotic combination and is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections..
It is advised in the treatment of Follicular Tonsillitis and if you have a throat infection again it can be taken thrice a day but my suggestion is to consult a doctor and get evaluated for the kind of infection as it can be viral also and get treated accordingly..

As of now you can do warm saline gargles.
Take Ibuprofen which is anti-inflammatory painkiller for relief from pain and inflammation..
Do steam inhalations.
Chew a Vitamin C tablet daily..
Avoid spicy and hard foods..
