Should I Take Medication For High BP After Delivery?
I had my second child 8 months ago. During my pregnancy I became hypertensive and my pressures did not return to my normal 120/80 after delivery. My pressure is always running around 130/90. I am 32 yrs old, 5 ft 5 inch. and 131 pdsnot and I do not smoke. Should I be on medication?
130/90 is borderline blood pressure. no need of medicine as of now. However, you need to monitor blood pressure three times a day for a week then twice a week. if your readings are Persistently high above 140/90 we will treat you. However you are at of high blood pressure in future. You should take low salt diet, regular exercises like brisk walking etc and healthy lifestyle. If possible get your sugars tested, thyroid and Urine for protein levels. Also kidney function test.
