Hello, good day. Weight gain may not be due to thyroid problems alone. Please do not start medicines for TSH of 6.5. It can temporarily go high in variety of conditions. Repeat TSH and Free T4 and Anto TPO after few days. Based on this we can decide treatment. DO you have a goiter ( enlarged thyroid?) Regards Binu
