Should I Take Pregnancy Test After Having Scanty And Dark Colored Periods?

My oct period was on 27th. I had un protected sex on 30th nove after knowing I have got my periods .

I had un protected sex again on 7th dec and took the postino2 on 8th dec. had spotting for 3 days starting 17th dec. have now got a very scanty period on 12th jan. v v scanty . And dark in color. Is this normal? Do I have to take a pregnancy test?

Hi,

In the current scenario, there is no need to go for a pregnancy test since you are well protected. The high hormone content in the emergency contraceptive pill causes hormone imbalance and thus leads to irregular menstrual pattern, withdrawal bleeds etc. Your next natural cycle should bounce back to normal if you restrict the use of the emergency pill further and if it does not, you have to get further evaluation.
