Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

No! You should not use Betnovate-C for acne on the face. It contains a potent steroid (betamethasone), using it over acne you might have noticed a slight improvement that is because of the anti-inflammatory property of steroid. It would, in fact, cause more acne in the longer run. It will do more harm than good to you like thinning of the skin, increased hair growth, changes in skin color, and veins under the skin surface may become more noticeable. So stop using this cream.

I suggest you to use proper sun protection. You can use azelaic acid or kojic acid creams under dermatological guidance only. These can be used for a long period without any side effects. This may take few weeks of the time to resolve your problem so have patience.

Treatment of pimples depends on the stage and severity of the condition. Very good results can be obtained if you are under regular treatment. Topical retinoid application at night for 6-9 months is needed for good results as that is the time needed for microcomedones population to reduce to low level.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
