Should I Worried About My Swollen Eye After Hitting My Head?
I've had a concussion since September. 1st due to a car accident. it's been better but last night I hit my head pretty hard on a door frame and it knocked me unconscious. I now feel like I did when I first got the other concussion but this time my right eye is swollen and it worries me because I hit the right side of my forehead. should I be worried? also, what could cause it?
Hello It seems from the history that you had a injury to the head following which you are having swollen eye. This is because of collection of blood in the layers of the skin. This is commonly seen in injuries to the face above the level of the eye brow. This will decrease over a period of 3-4 weeks as the blood gets reabsorbed. Applying cold compression provides symptomatic relief. Since you have mentioned that you had loss of consciousness following injury to the head, this requires evaluation and treatment for concussion.
Thank you
