Should I Worry About Red, Swollen Lump On Foot?

I tripped on the last step of my stairs at the bottom and fell. The outside of my left foot has formed a lump and was red and swollen but is now bruised. I do not recall hitting it but I think I landed in an awkward position. Is the lump anything to worry about?

Hi

You seem to have developed a hematoma over the feet which is simply a collection of blood.
Such a collection can develop due to bleeding inside the skin.
You just need to take care so as not to hit the area again on anything.
Wear soft canvas shoes.
You can take oral vitamin c so as to speed up the healing process .
In case the pain or swelling tends to increase , then it might suggest a localised infection and the need for antibiotics .

Hope it helps
