Should Immediate Medical Check Up Be Done For Body Tremors And Lower Backache In A Dementia Patient?
I am inquiring about my father. He is 88, has the beginning of dementia (started about 18 months ago), and is otherwise in good health. My mother called me (they are an hour away) and is very upset. He is wearing a sweatshirt in 90 degree weather and turned on the gas fireplace. Is shaking badly and talking very little. Can t feed himself due to the uncontrollable shaking. She also said he has complained of lower back pain on the side which he only mentioned this week and said when he goes to the bathroom it relieves it somewhat. she made a doctor s appointment for tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. Do you think he should be checked sooner than that?

Should Immediate Medical Check Up Be Done For Body Tremors And Lower Backache In A Dementia Patient?
Hello, I think he is having a fever. You can give him acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever and he will feel better. He can wait till tomorrow to meet a doctor and it isn t an emergency situation. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
