Should Labour Be Induced At 37 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
GOOD DAY, DOCTOR. MY DAUGHTER IS ON HER 37 WEEK OF PREGNANCY WITH HER FIRST BABY. THE DOCTOR CLAIMS AFTER CONDUCTING AN ULTRASOUND THAT THE BABY HAS AN UNDERDEVELOPED STOMACH AT 35 WEEK LEVEL ( TWO WEEKS BEHIND ) WHEN ALL THE BABY S ORGANS ARE DEVELOPED ATH THE 37 WEEK LEVEL. THE HEARTBEAT IS NORMAL. THE DOCTOR HAS ADVISED THAT THEY INDUCE LABOR SO THAT THE BABY IS SAFE. IF SHE GETS NO LABOR PAINS IN 10 HOURS, THEY WILL DO THE CESEAREAN DELIVERY. PLEASE ADVISE.

hello
welcome to health care magic
it is safe for induction of labor at 37 weeks of gestation..
at 37 weeks fetal lungs are well matured to lead an independent life.. baby's other organs were also well developed at this age..
induction of labour starts with an SYNTOCIN(oxytocin) infusion..and you will develop labour pains after that..
if your pelvis is not adequate for normal delivery,,or not have adequate dilatation surgeon will go for cesearean delivery..
thank you
