Should One Worry About A Bruise Appearing On The Back?
I just got out of the shower and I saw that I have a dark red and blue bruise the size of an apple in the middle of my lower back, I haven t had any trauma that would cause this, and I m pretty sure I did not see it last night. Should I watch it? Set up an appointment? or is this something I should worry about tonight?
Hi! Good evening. i am Dr Shareef answering your query.
You did not mention if you were on any kind of medications like blood thinning agents. If yes, then you might have to consult your treating doctor for some blood investigations and modification in dose of the medicines. If not, you might wait and watch, and could go for an anti allergic, along with an anti inflammatory and a proton pump inhibitor drug for the present. If it gets relieved , nothing more to do. If not, you might have to consult your family physician/treating doctor for a detailed physical examination and other related investigations.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
