Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Usually in transabdominal ultrasound by around 7 weeks fetal heartbeat can be seen and in transvaginal ultrasound by around 6 weeks fetal heartbeat can be seen. So, as your doctor suggested please go for review scan after one week, if you have completed 7 weeks by that time and Heartbeat is visible no need to worry. If the Sporting is minimal and decreases no need to worry. But if the spotting is persisting better to go for progesterone tablets to prevent abortion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
