Should Purple Bruising And Swelling In Foot After An Injury Be A Cause Of Worry?

I dropped a heavy object on my foot last night. A bump around the size of a golf ball or a baseball formed just after. I elevated it, and went to bed. This morning, I woke up with a red, purple, and green bruise around 3-4 inches in diameter. It hurts to put weight on it, and to curl my toes under. I can't point my foot. Should I be worried?

Hi,

I have gone through your query.
Yes, you should be worried as bruise is formed and is purple is color too.And from your symptoms, there might be tendon injury or fracture of meta tarsal(s).

I suggest you to take NSAID like Ibuprofen and see a local Orthopedic doctor for clinical examination and investigations like X-ray foot.
