Should She Discontinue Pyoglar And Glynase As She Has Sugar?
my mom us aged 60 and she was previously taking Glynase MF (3 tablets after each meal) and Pyoglar 15 mg (1 tablet after breakfast). now she is tested for sugar and her reports suggest FBS - 118, PPBS - 210 and HBA1C - 6.3 and mean blood glucose - 134. Now she is prescribed Vogllinar GM2 (1 tablet each before breakfast and dinner), and discontinue of Pyoglar and Glynase.
I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best way possible. Your mom has controlled FBS, good HbA1C levels nut PPBS is high which needs to be tackled.
You doctor has rightly prescibed you Voglinorm GM2 as it has metformin 500 mg, glimipiride 2 mg and voglibose 0.2 mg. Voglibose will take care of her post prandial sugars and give her a better control of diabetes.
My advise to you is to take the medication as prescribed by your doctor and check your sugar levels often at home and keep a record of your fasting and PP levels in a diary. It would be helpful for your next followup. Also do not forget the regular walks and proper diabetic diet to control your sugars further.
