Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
During a soccer game a week ago my son was kicked in the inside shin. He still has a bump, it s tender to the touch and occasionally hurts while walking. He did not tell us about it until yesterday. Is it too late to ice it and should it be x-rayed?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi Thanks for writing You may very well continue with Ice fomentation followed by compression bandage. As I have gone through your query, he is able to walk around and pain wise he is better than yesterday? So it does not seem to be a fracture case. But the x ray has its own place, what our naked eye cannot see it can. Take care Dr.chugh Orthopaedic surgeon
