Should The ER Be Visited For Severe Pain In The Arm While On A Cardiac Stent?

I am 67 yrs old Black FEMALE with type 2 Diabetes. I have had a stint in my heart for eight years. One year ago in December I was told that I had a mild heart attack. I NOW FEEL A THROBBING SLIGHT PAIN DOWN MY RIGHT ARM FROM SHOULDER TO HAND. COULD THIS BE AN URGENT SYMPTOM OR CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ONE OF MY DOCTORS?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Right side pain may be due to Infection or cervical Spondylosis with radiculopathy etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Take back rest, use painkiller medication, wear cervical collar, if symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
