Should The ER Be Visited For Stomach Ache And Fatigue After A Laparoscopy?

My husband had a ruptured appendix, procedure was laparoscopic. 3 days in hospital on IV antibiotics. White blood count had come down from 15 to 11.1 at discharge. On oral antibiotics past 3 days at home. First two days appetite returned and stamina better each day. Last evening he complained of stomach pain and today is extremely fatigued and has no appetite. Temperature has been in normal range and remains there. I am concerned about abdominal abscess as his surgeon stressed he was at risk for such. Should I take him to ER?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is better to take him to ER and get an ultrasound scan to rule out any possible collection or abscess in the abdominal cavity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
