Should The X-ray Be Taken For The Large Lump Under The Skin Of The Hip Area?
I have a large lump under skin on my left hip from a fall a year ago on decking on ice.At the time the hip went black which I presumed was badly bruised. The black ness went but now I am left with this raised lump. At the time it happened it felt like a muscle had torn. I have had physio but was no good. I have never had it xrayed or scanned should I do this now?
I have studied your case. According to your history there is possibility of benign swelling around your hip. As swelling is not reducing I will advise you to further investigate for the cause of swelling. I will advise you to do MRI and Ultrasound of the swelling. If its collection or benign mass it can be excised.
Till time you can take anti-inflammatory and antibiotic if infection is suspected.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
