Should The Eyes Should The Eyes Be Injected For Two Years For The Macular Oedema Problem?
I have been diagnosed with macular oedema (think that's how to spell it) have been told I will probably be having injections into my eyes for up to two years, am a bit concerned about that. Is that true and what would be the likelihood of less time the needles concern me?
Hello It seems from the history that you are diagnosed with macular edema and have been advised treatment in the form of intravitreal injections. Macular edema is seen because of inflammatory conditions and treatment is my steroid drugs. Intravitreal steroid injections are indicated in cases not responding to oral or local steroids.
Usually 2-3 injections are sufficient in this condition.
However in macular degenerations injections are required for long time like more than 2 years.
Thank you
