Should This Lymph Node Mass Near The Masseter Muscle Be Excised?
I got a CT scan yesterday because I have a palpable mass in my right cheek. The mass ended up being a solid nodular mass that was 8mm-likely a lymph node lymph node located anterior to my masseter muscle- I have had this lump for 15 months or so and it was only 5mm on ultrasound last year. Everything else on CT was normal-they checked my sinuses as well. I have Hashimotos and they have biopsied nodules in my thyroid before but were only able to get scar tissue due to the removal of the right half of my thyroid several years ago. Should I have this lymph node removed?
If you are not having pain or cosmetic problem because of the swelling , then you dont have to remove it.However if it causes pain or suddenly increases in size ,then it will be advisable to get it removed.
Take care
