Should Visiting A Person With Poor Immunity Be Avoided After Exposure To Flu?
My father was diagnosed with the flu on Wedneday. He started feeling ill Tuesday. I live with him, but I am have not spent time within 6 feet of him and have been wiping down surfaces. My mother says I cannot see my grandmother (who has a compromised immune system) for a week because of my exposure to the flu. Is this true?
Yes, it is better not to be around with the flu-infected person if you have poor immunity.
Isolation precautions for patients who have influenza symptoms should be continued for the 7 days after illness onset or until 24 hours after the resolution of fever and respiratory symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
