Should We Cease Using Laxose Immediately As She Has Diarrhea And Gas?

My 84 yr old mum was prescribed laxose 1 teaspoon twice a day in conjunction with senocot for constipation. This was quite hard on her. We have found that using the laxose only helped to keep her regular as presently she is mainly immobile. She is on other medication for water retention, blood pressure, epilim and abilify after psychotic episode in April. She has the side effects: gas, cramps and today she had diarrhoea. Should we cease using laxose immediately?

She is taking laxose. Her diarrhoea, cramps, gas all are due to side effects of laxose. She should stop taking laxose and consult her doctor.
