Should We Take Rabies Vaccination If Shih Tzu Scratched?
hi doctor, i am concerned about my 6 yrs old nephew, who got scratched by my 4 yrs old shih tzu on his face..there s no visible wound though but we washed my nephew s face with soap and water. my shih tzu had his arv 3yrs ago..should i get my nephew injected with anti-rabies?

As long as the dog is a known do who can be observed over time, as yours is, there is no need to get rabies vaccine right away. If, over the next few days, the dog begins to show signs of rabies, then your nephew will have to begin the rabies vaccine series. If not, there is no need to get the vaccines.
