I injured my left shoulder about 9-10 months ago boxing (or at least that's what I think injured it... it could have been lifting weights incorrectly, though I'm fairly certain it's from boxing) Anyways... the pain was mainly in the front of my shoulder, a little down my bicep and back to my rotator cuff. But the most pain was in the front of my shoulder.
I continued to work out thinking it was nothing. After about 6 months, I realized I had to take time off, so I took 1 month off. It didn't help, so I decided to see an ortho surgeon who diagnosed me with rotator cuff tendonitis and put me in physical therapy. After a month of physical therapy, my symptoms were getting works, so I got an MRI (arthogram). I went back to my doctor who told me my MRI looked "pretty clean."
He suggested I get injected with cortisone and continue physical therapy, so I did. It helped, but not completely. It only helped with pain in the front of my shoulder, but not my bicep or back of my arm (tricep and rotator cuff area).
So I sought a second opinion from a great doctor who said that my MRI shows the head of my humerus is pushed up, thus causing my rotator cuff tendons/muscles to get trapped, which causes inflammation, thus the pain I'm experiencing. He said to do do physical therapy exercises everyday for 6 months and I should be healed. Is this true or will I eventually need surgery?
