Side Effects Of Stopping Amlodipine Besylate?

I would like to stop taking Amlodipine Besylate 10 mg daily, since being onthem Ihave stoped smoking and my blood pressure is under control . I take 40 mg of Benazepril daily which I will continue on. I have type 2 diabetes which I take 1500 mg metforman daily and 8mg Glimepiride daily. Can I just stop taking the Amlodipine and what side effects of stopping should Iwatch for?

Hello,
There is no point stopping the AMLODIPINE because it would result in rebound hypertension.Being a diabetic,it is all the more important that you must keep your BP normal and advised target is below 120/80.
Similarly keep your blood sugar levels in tight normal range to avoid future macro as well as microvascular complications.
Thanks
