Slept In A Chair With Forearms On Knees Two Nights Ago. Limited Strength And Usage In Right Hand Mainly Thumb. Taking Ibrufen.
I slept in a chair 2 nights ago with my forearms on my knees. i awoke at 4:30 am and went to bed. i awoke at 9 am to find that i had very limited strength and usage in my right hand. mainly my thumb. This is the second day and I have been taking ibufrofen and it is not much better.Keep in mind that there is nothing else wrong or different. What do you think it is?
I have read your query and I would advise the following:
Due to abnormal posture there was compression of nerve supplying your hand. Its called as saturday night palsy. You may need to take stroid consulting your doctor. Vitamin B12 is important in the maintenance of health and normal functioning of the nerve tissue and deficiency of it can lead to numbness. You can increase B12 level by taking meat and fish, or you can take Inj methylcobalamine 1500 mcg alternate day. [6 doses]
I hope that I have answered your query. Let me know if I can help you further.
Take care
